Behringer has once again left us salivating with a new product in the pipeline, which is apparently a clone of what they refer to as “one of the world’s most desirable synths”, along with photos of what appears to look exactly like the classic ARP 2500 modular synth:
Behringer teases new ARP 2500 clone 
The 2500 was ARP’s first modular synthesizer, produced in direct competition with the Moog modular of that time. Instead of patch cables, it used a 10×10 matrix switch system.
Many of us will recall the Earth-shaking sounds of the ARP 2500 during the climactic scene in Steve Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the goosebump-inducing intro to Elton John’s “Funeral for a Friend”, and from various works by an assortment of artists such as The Who, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Kraftwerk.
